This 8 Night South African Luxury Safari has been designed for those who are passionate about experiencing the best of the wilderness.
This program combines the two best safari areas in South Africa, the Kruger National Park and the Madikwe Game Reserve, providing you with a safari of a lifetime.
You will spend 3 Nights in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, then heading off to the game rich Sabi Sands Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park. Your adventure will end with a few nights in the Timbavati Game Reserve (also in the Kruger National Park) providing you with a variety of landscapes and the experience of game viewing in three unique and amazing areas.
Day 0: Optional Pre-Night add on
Dependent on your time of arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport, you may not be able to depart on safari on the same day.
There is the option to spend your first night in Johannesburg at a luxury hotel, to recover from jet lag and to ensure that you are refreshed and ready for your safari adventure the following day.
Day 1 – 3: Depart for Madikwe Game Reserve
On arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport, you will be met by our representative and assisted with your check in for your Federal Air flight to Madikwe.
Depart on a direct Federal Air flight from Johannesburg to the Madikwe Game Reserve, situated on the border of Botswana.
Once you have settled into your luxury room, and have rested – you will enjoy your first late afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle with your ranger in search of the Big Five.
Madikwe Game Reserve spans 75,000 hectares of bushveld, hosting not only the Big Five, but a wide variety of bird species and other mammals. It is particularly famous for its packs of Wild Dogs.
Spend the following 3 nights on Safari at the luxury Madikwe Hills. You will spend your days on safari with early morning game drives, returning to your lodge for hearty breakfasts. For the brave, optional bush walks and late afternoon game drives, watching African sunsets before driving into the dark in search of the nocturnal animals. You may very well see a Leopard hunting at night – a thrilling experience.
Day 4 – Day 6 Sabi Sands – Kruger National Park
After your last early morning game drive in the Madikwe Game Reserve, you will take a Federal Air flight back to Johannesburg, before connecting on another direct Federal Air flight to the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
The next 3 nights will be spent in the game rich area of the Sabi Sands Reserve, in the luxury private game lodge – Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve.
The landscape of the Kruger National Park is very different to Madikwe, with the sounds of the African bush surrounding you, you will know you are in Africa.
The Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa, and hosts a wide variety of animals including the Big Five – particularly the predators such as Leopard, Cheetah and Lion.
Your days will be filled with safari activities and, as the night falls over the bush, you will return to your lodge for a sumptuous dinner around a boma fire, discussing your days sightings with fellow travellers.
Day 7 – 8 Timbavati Reserve – The Kruger National Park
After your last early morning Game Drive in the Sabi Sands, you will depart on a road transfer from the Sabi Sands to the Timbavati Reserve.
En-route to Kings Camp from Leopard Hills, you will be transferred to Elephant Whispers where
you will be enthralled by a two-hour Ultimate Elephant Experience, which includes an indulgent
champagne picnic surrounded by these gentle giants . Arrive at the luxury Kings Camp, where you will spend your last two nights on Safari.
Timbavati is less densely populated with game lodges, and travellers often find this an advantage during their game viewing. The Timbavati Game Reserve is well known for the “White Lions of Timbavati” and provide a wonderful end to your adventure.
Once again, you will be pampered with glorious food and twice daily game drives. Spend time relaxing around the pool or simply listening to the sounds surrounding you.
Day 9 – Your Safari Adventure comes to an end
After your last game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred back to Johannesburg by Federal Air.
Bid farewell to the bush as you head off back home or perhaps extend your trip to another area of South Africa, such as Cape Town.
