Luxury Waterfront

Our Waterfront Tents are perfect for those who enjoy the closeness of the water’s edge. The sundeck on each waterfront tent overlaps the water’s edge and is the ideal spot to relax during your stay with us. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.

Luxury Tents

The luxury tents are set only a few meters away from the waterhole and provide an elevated view of the surroundings. They also have great views over the whole lodge area and is surrounded by true Karoo fynbos. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.

Luxury Family

The Family units have a spacious main room and a children’s room with a shared en-suite bathroom separating the rooms. These units can accommodate a family of up to 5 people. Each tent is air-conditioned, has an en-suite bathroom with amenities, and breathtaking views.

Elephant Feeding, Walking and Interacting Experiences

Spend some quality time with these gentle giants. We have 3 African elephants that have been raised at the lodge.

Feeding: (Every half hour from 08h00 to 16h30)

With this experience you get the opportunity to interact with them, feed them and even sit on one of their knees, if you like

Duration: 30 – 45 min

Walking: (09h00 – 12h00 and 15h30 – 16h30)

Take in the natural beauty with some of our tame resident elephants. Go for an early morning or a late afternoon walk with them around the 5ha waterhold

Duration: 1 hour

Bush Safari

Take a closer look at the wildside of the Klein Karoo in an open game vehicle. 22 species such as Rhinos, giraffes, hippos, buffalo and much more. Enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Swartberg Mountains at lookout points while recharging with refreshments.

Summer Sundowner Trips

Definitely the highlight at the lodge, guests can marvel at the Karoo sunset from our Spioenkop viewpoint while sipping a glass of sparkling wine. The perfect way to end a glorious day.

Meerkat Safaris at Buffelsdrift

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge invites you to witness the incredible wild habituated Meerkats emerging out of their burrows at dawn, just in time to soak up the sun before they head about their daily activities.

The Meerkat Safaris at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge will bring you up close to these amazing animals. A trained ranger will meet our guests in the Lookout Lounge, where they will enjoy a warm cup of coffee and rusks, before heading to the Safari vehicle to go to the Meerkat burrows. On the way to the burrows guests are usually lucky to spot some of the 22 species of animals on the reserve.

The guests remain on the vehicle while waiting for the Meerkats to emerge at the break of dawn. The ranger will educate the guests on all the interesting facts and behavior throughout the experience.

Lion Feeding

Guests will be transported in a game vehicle to the 5ha lion enclosure where they will see our lions (Shumba, Tonga and Safia) close-up from the elevated view point. A trained game ranger will feed the lions while guests view them. It is advisable to have a camera at hand. Furthermore, the game ranger will fully inform the guests regarding important aspects of lions in general.

General Guidelines:

– These are wild Lions and will not be touched or handled by humans, including the rangers.

– Maximum of 20 guests per Lion experience. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

– Duration of the Lion viewing experience may vary depending on their behaviour (± 1-2 hours)
