The garden is a popular choice in the summer months.

During “whale season” (early July to December), our guests often enjoy their meal whilst watching whales sidling along the coastline. The garden is also home to our 100-year-old Camellia Japonica tree that blooms four different colours (red, pink, white & pink & white)

After a excellent seafood meal , we continue to visit the Penguin colony on Boulders Beach,

As the 5th wine producer in the world , one finds over 3000 wine estates in this region.

With an ancient terroire , and a Mediterranean climate , excellent wines are made.

We visit the 17th century Dutch town of Stellenbosch with its lovely Cape Dutch style architecture.

We then continue towards Franschoek for a wine tasting at the excellent Haute Cabriere/similar

Nestled in stone with maturing Pinot Noir below, the Haute Cabrière tasting room is the perfect platform to indulge in our wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In summer, take in the unique view of the Franschhoek Valley, whilst in winter enjoy tastings next to our fireplace. The tasting room offers guests a historic view into the past with the daily cellar tour. This unique underground experience shares the Haute Cabrière wine making philosophy and explores the wines, while getting insight into the wine making process.

Lunch is at the excellent Delaire Graaf restaurant / similar .Overlooking a sea of vineyards and olive groves planted on the Simonsberg, our views from the terrace span all the way into the Banhoek Valley.

We then visit Muratie wine estate/ similar for a wine tasting

Muratie’s rich history is captured in every nook and cranny. Wherever you are on the estate you cannot help being moved by a sense of the many generations that have Lived and worked here. We then board our Landrover and make our way to the Motse Lodge , a 50 minute drive.

Tswalu is a vast, magical land of infinite possibility, with sweeping vistas and a liberating sense of space. The green Kalahari is nature at its most diverse and surprising, and to spend time here is to be touched by exuberant, soulful beauty. Considered important for thousands of years, we’re now striving to conserve this breath-taking landscape for future generations.

Overnight:  Tswalu Motse Lodge – Fully inclusive of all meals  & activities

Day 6 – 8 :  Tswalu Kahalari Reserve

An early morning visit to Tswalu’s habituated meerkats to see them in their natural habitat is an unforgettable encounter.

Guests have the opportunity to get within a few metres of one of three habituated family groups to watch them pop in and out of their burrows, stand sentry, groom and play with each other, soak up the sunshine, and forage in the sand for tasty morsels. The families are referred to as the Mokala, Gosa and Rockstar groups.

Each drive or activity, such as a starlit dune dinner or Naledi sleep-out experience, becomes part of your exclusive, personalised Tswalu safari. Just like the sands of the Kalahari, we understand that your priorities may shift during your time at Tswalu. That’s why we’ll never try and shoehorn your experience into a fixed schedule.

Unlike most private reserves in South Africa, there are no other lodges on the property and the land is not shared with guests from other concessions or properties. This means that there are no areas of the reserve that are off-limits to guests. Heading off in a new direction every day, it literally feels as if you have the entire southern Kalahari to yourself.

Scenic helicopter flights, nature walks, rock art excursions, time in the field with one of the scientists from Dedeben Research Centre, or a session in the photographic studio, editing and printing your best wildlife images, are a few of the other specialised activities on offer. Tswalu is malaria free, making it an ideal safari destination for families. Children are actively encouraged to participate fully in the safari experience

No two Tswalu experiences are the same.

That’s because the way you see and touch this magical place will be shaped by your particular interests and will happen at your own pace. Tswalu is a generous landscape and as the sun rises above the Korannaberg mountains each morning, new opportunities to learn, play and explore come to life.

A private vehicle allows for unlimited time at sightings, which may include some of the elusive species that find sanctuary here, such as aardvark, pangolin, bat-eared fox, brown hyena, and aardwolf. Other iconic Kalahari species include the black-maned Kalahari lion, the desert black rhino, wild dog, oryx and cheetah. At any time of the year, there are special sightings and transformations to the landscape influenced by seasonal changes and the absence or abundance of water.

Overnight:  Tswalu Motse Lodge – Fully inclusive of all meals  & activities

Day 9:  Kruger National Park Safari

Last morning Game Drive and breakfast is served !

We check out and get ready for our next adventure .

We say out goodbyes to our Ranger and staff and board the luxurious Pilatus Aircraft for our direct flight to Johannesburg.

We are met at Johannesburg and assisted to the Fedair flight to the Legendary Kruger National Park.

After a short one hour flight we land at the Leopard Hills runway .

Occasionally there are lions on the strip in which case  the aircraft will circle until they are chased off

We arrive in time for the Afternoon/Evening Game Drive.

Overnight: Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve  – Fully inclusive of all meals and game activities

Day 10 & 11:   Kruger National Park Safari

An Exclusive Five-Star Luxury Experience in the World Renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Award-winning Leopard Hills is located in the western sector of the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bordering the world famous Kruger National Park. This Sabi Sand lodge is perfectly set on a rocky outcrop, offering magnificent views over the bush and an active waterhole on the plains below.

The Reserve comprises over 10,000 hectares of incredibly diverse ecosystems making Leopard Hills the ideal destination to view plentiful game in its natural habitat. Here the ‘Big 5’ (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard) abound and viewing them at close proximity is our specialty.

Within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the ‘Big 5’, (elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard), abound and viewing them at close proximity is our speciality. Traversing over 10,000 hectares of incredibly diverse ecosystems makes Leopard Hills the ideal destination to view plentiful game in its natural habitat.

Each day brings something different, as you explore the bush in an open game viewing vehicle. Whether it is a leopard on the hunt, lions roaring at twilight, hippo wallowing in the river, or a crocodile basking on a sandy bank; each viewing will enthrall.

Your knowledgeable and professional ranger conducts early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives,

in search of Africa’s big game. The latest state-of-the-art open game drive vehicles, specifically designed for Leopard Hills, have individual bucket seats and centre consoles, ensuring your optimum safety and comfort.

Leopard Hills prides itself with the best rangers in the business, and they offer a safari experience like no other, from sightings of big game in their natural surroundings, to the smaller flora and fauna, which make this piece of paradise a place we are privileged to call home.

Overnight: Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve  – Fully inclusive of all meals and game activities

Day 12:  Walking Safari

Exploring the African wilderness on foot provides us with a real sense of place and we become a part of the environment, absorbing every detail, leaving nothing but our tracks behind.

Your senses will become tuned in to the many facets of nature that are often overlooked from a vehicle as you see, smell, hear, touch and even taste the true soul of Africa.

Coming across an attractively marked leopard tortoise, watching a fascinating rhino beetle or a stunningly plumed lilac breasted roller, are just a few of the amazing encounters awaiting you!

Trails are flexible depending on each guest’s requirements. Shorter walks are conducted after the morning game drive and are usually for 1 or 2 hours. Longer walking trails can be arranged anytime and can even be in place of morning game drives.

Our walking safaris are lead by an experienced fully qualified Trails Guide who will tailor your experience based on your specific interests. After an introductory briefing on the all important “do’s and don’ts” of bush walking safaris, the trail will be structured around the fitness levels of the group. In keeping with safety regulations on guided walks, no children under 16 are permitted.

Overnight: Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve  – Fully inclusive of all meals and game activities

Bush Dinners

On warm nights in summer, guests may be treated to a three-course meal in the heart of the bushveld. With the finest in cuisine and service excellence, guests will enjoy an unforgettable feast under African starlit skies.

Cultural Tours  ( additional cost )

For those with a passion for Africa and an interest in its diverse and spontaneous culture, tours are offered into the local village, where guests will have the opportunity of embarking on a journey of invaluable knowledge and information on South Africa, its people and their way of life. Wildlife

The lodge is built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole and the perennial Sand River is a sanctuary for many bird species and host to wallowing Hippo’s and basking Crocodiles as it gently flows to the heartbeat of Africa not far from camp. From this Hilltop Sanctuary, if you listen carefully somewhere in the distance you may be lucky enough to hear the roar of a Lion, companionless in his courage, friendless in his magnificence, or witness the reality of life and death in its fullness, as your eyes gaze into a marula tree, only to fall upon the elusive Leopard devouring the most graceful of all Antelope, the Impala. Or perhaps you stumble upon the Dung-beetle during a walking safari and pay homage to the courage and strength of this little creature, which has throughout time, competed with the charaxes, whom have always gained favour for their beauty.

Game drive safaris are conducted by professional rangers in open 4×4 vehicles.

Our afternoon drives stop for sun-downer drinks and snacks at sunset before continuing into the night in search of wildlife,

In addition to limited driving on our 12,000-hectare concession, we have exclusive use of some of the Kruger National Park public roads at night. After settling into your 19th century explorer-style luxury tent and being shown around the camp, high tea is served

After your rangers have been through the safety precautions, you will set off on a Safari walk which is always an exhilarating experience. All walks are led by two armed guides.

You will later return to the vehicle in time for sun-downers and enjoy a night drive before returning to camp for a excellent dinner around the camp fire.

On each walking safari our guides will share their wealth of “bush culture’’ – not only identifying flora and fauna but also explaining the medicinal uses of plants, local folk lore and interpreting wildlife tracks in the sand.

A hearty brunch is served after getting back from the morning walk.  Choose to take the opportunity to cool off in in the plunge pool or simply relax on the deck while doing some more game-watching over the Timbetene Plain.

High tea is followed by an afternoon walk and a evening game drive.

Drinks around the fire, followed by dinner complete the day.

2 Night Sensational Fly-In Kruger National Park Safari

2 Night Sensational Fly-In Kruger National Park Safari

If you want an Out of Africa experience, this is it.

With 6 Luxurious and opulent tented suites, Hamiltons Tented Camp awaits to welcome you into the very special realm of the legendary Kruger National Park.

From open vehicle game drives with extraordinary rangers, to delicious dinners around the camp fire , a day in the bush is an unsurpassed experience.

Located in the Western Kruger area bordering Sabi Sands and the Mayeleti concession, Hamiltons Tented Camp promises fantastic game viewing !

To understand the difference between Kruger and the concessions, The Kruger National Park is state owned and the concessions are privately owned.

Most concessions share an unfenced border with Kruger allowing free movement of the game.

Day 1:  Your safari adventure begins

Check in at Johannesburg OR Tambo airport for your direct flight (one hour ) to Skukuza airport.

On landing , one may see lions along the airstrip.

Met by your ranger , and you will be transferred the 63 km to the camp.

One already sees wildlife en route.

We arrive in time for check in and a delicious lunch

Dining at Hamiltons is a classy affair from crystal glasses to uniformed butlers. Every care is taken by the proud chefs to bring you the very best of African cuisine,

Your ranger will then brief you on the next couple of days game activities.

The afternoon/evening Game drive then departs deep in the African Bush, stopping at a viewpoint for sunset drinks

As the evening falls and darkness surrounds us , the rangers light their powerful spotlights which are moved from side to side

One often will come upon a thrilling lion kill.

After a wonderful time we return to the lodge for Dinner

Overnight: Hamiltons Tented Camp  – Fully inclusive of all meals and game activities

Day 2:   In search of the Big Five

We have an early start to the day with a 05h00 wake up call.

Hot coffee and rusks are served before boarding the Land Rover.

It can get chilly so bring a warm jacket and of course a hat for when the sun comes out.

The animals are most active at this time , still engaging with the nights hunt.

Your ranger knows the terrain well and will often work with their colleagues via radio when an important sighting has been made.

There is always a good chance of seeing the Big 5 on these drives as the area is very game rich.

After the thrill of the bush we return for a excellent hot breakfast!

Then we have a most thrilling hour and a half experience walking through the bush with our armed ranger. This brings us up close to the wild animals all around.

No perfume or cologne please!  Clothing must be khaki or neutral colours.

We then return for an excellent lunch.

Time to relax for High Tea where a selection of fresh pastries is served.

The afternoon evening game drive then departs where once again we drive deep into the bush in search of the Big 5!

We have a bush dinner this evening!

Overnight: Hamiltons Tented Camp  – Fully inclusive of all meals and game activities

Day 3:  Safari ends

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast.

After a wonderful time its time to check out and transfer to Skukuza airport for our flight to Johannesburg
