This understated, private retreat boasts 5-star luxury guesthouse accommodation with bed and breakfast facilities, and is ideally situated at Robberg’s beautiful Blue Flag Beach.

Beach

Robberg Beach, only a 2 minute walk from the lodge is popular for shore based dolphin and whale watching, striking views of Robberg Peninsula as well as lengthy strolls. This snow white sandy beach stretches for kilometres between the Robberg Peninsula and Beacon Island. The beach has lifesavers in season, ablution facilities, a deck, boardwalks and benches as well as chair and umbrella rentals and various parking spots.

View Suite

The Robberg Beach Lodge has two View Suites in Beachy Head Villa. These rooms have wonderful views and spacious floor plans, with french doors opening onto a private balcony. The rooms have a bath with separate shower, twin basins, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities (new Nespresso machines), as well as heating-cooling aircon and 40′ flat-screen TVs.

View Room

The View Rooms at The Robberg overlook Plettenberg Bay’s blue-flag swimming beach. The first-floor room and has a large bay window with mesmerizing sea views. The second-floor room has french doors opening onto a private balcony with great sea views. All rooms have a bath with separate shower, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV.

Our View Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Luxury Suite or View Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them. All children are welcome at The Robberg Beach Lodge in our child-friendly Suites.

Luxury Suite

Our Luxury Suites all have private balconies overlooking gardens and extremely spacious bathrooms & floorplans. These suites are all child friendly, each with a queen-size sofa bed that can comfortably accommodate 2 children up to age 11 sharing with adults. All suites have bathrooms with separate showers, heated towel rails and double basins, heating/cooling air-conditioning, flat-screen TV with selected cable channels, and minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. If you are travelling with children, please let us know how old your children are so that we can arrange for the best accommodation arrangements for them.

Luxury Room

All rooms have lovely garden views and spacious floorplans. Please see our website for specific details of each room. All Double/Twin rooms have separate bath and shower, with the exception of Cordovan Villa Room 4 which has a double-volume shower. All rooms offer heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV. A mixture of cable internet and wifi is available in these rooms. All rooms have kingsize beds convertible to twins. Double/Twin Luxury Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them: all our Suites are child-friendly.

Cottage Suite

Our two Cottage Suites are located on the first floor of the Cottage Pie building, set back from the main beach road in a quiet crescent. Both suites have very spacious floor plans and bathrooms with bath and separate shower. The Cottage Suites have cottage-style decor and wooden beamed ceilings, but offer the same modern conveniences as the other rooms: heating/cooling aircon, flat-screen TV & DSTV satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities and minibar. This room is child-friendly.

Standard Room (Garden)

Our Standard Rooms are located in the peaceful Cottage Pie building, in a quiet crescent set back from the main beach road. The Standard Rooms offer a relaxed beach cottage-style decor and look onto garden courtyards or onto the private pool area at Cottage Pie. Standard Rooms offer shower bathrooms, with the exception of Standard Room 1 which also has a bath. Please see our website for specific features of each room. All Standard Rooms offer tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, heating/cooling aircon and flat-screen TV with a selection of DSTV channels. Wi-fi is available in these rooms. A lounge and kitchen facilities are also available for guests’ use at Cottage Pie.

Self Catering Family Room

The Family Room is perfect for families traveling with children and couples who enjoy lots of space. The Family Room includes a sofa bed and is stylish with a private entrance, spacious patio area, open-plan living area and kitchenette with an oven, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster and small fridge.

Luxury Double Rooms

Each with their own sitting area, bedroom with en-suite bathroom, as well as air-conditioning and under-floor heating throughout, the Luxury Double Rooms are individually decorated to reflect the marine environment surrounding the hotel.

Views over the immaculate gardens at The Plettenberg vary between each luxury double room. Maximum two people per room. Amenities in the Luxury Double Rooms, which range in size from 35-70m2.

Luxury Double Sea View

Overlooking the gorgeous Plettenberg Bay and surrounding ocean, the six Luxury Double Rooms with Sea View each offer their own perspective of the area.

Each room is as unique as its view, with a sophisticated individual decor scheme and offering the ultimate in comfort with a sitting area, walk-in showers, and air-conditioning and under-floor heating throughout.

Guests can enjoy the gorgeous hues of sunset here from their private step-out balconies, and get a closer view when pods of whales or dolphins move in towards the bay.

The Luxury Double Rooms with Sea View range in size from 38-54m2. Maximum two people per room.

Suite

With tasteful decor inspired by the surrounding views of Plettenberg Bay, the five Suites each offer an individual palette for guests to enjoy.

A separate lounge area, bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and air-conditioning and under-floor heating throughout offer luxury and comfort for guests, allowing them to relax and enjoy the hotel and service.

Suites range in size between 48-70m2. Maximum two people per room.

Premier Suite

With seven individually decorated Premier Suites from which to choose at The Plettenberg, guests are sure to enjoy all the variations of these rooms. Each Premier Suite offers a view over the surrounding area which can be enjoyed from a private step-out balcony opening up through French doors.

Each spacious Premier Suite offers separate lounge, satellite TV, and bedroom with en-suite bathroom. There is air-conditioning and under-floor heating throughout.

Premier Suites range in size between 50-78m2. Maximum two people per room.

Hog Hollow Country Lodge is situated in a private nature reserve, with views of the surrounding valleys and Tsitsikamma Mountains.

The lodge is situated alongside a central dam, creating a private oasis on the edge of an indigenous forest.Relax by the pool overlooking the Matjes River Gorge, or stroll along the forest’s walking trails to see the elephants at the Knysna Elephant Park. Keurbooms Beach and Nature’s Valley are just a short drive from the lodge.

Book a boat ride out to sea, and get close to the whales and dolphins that visit this coastline. Whales calve in the area between July and September, while the dolphins play here all year round

Hog Hollow Country Lodge’s chefs prepare excellent meals using only the freshest local produce. Farmhouse breakfasts are served on the wooden deck overlooking the forest on sunny days, or indoors beside the fireplace when it is cooler.Enjoy a delicious dinner around the communal table in the friendly atmosphere of the candle-lit main house. Complement your meal with a fine wine from the wide selection. Special menus can be drawn up for children and guests with special dietary needs.

Accommodation  –

Hog Hollow Country Lodge has 16 comfortable suites, all of which offer uninterrupted views of the forest and Tsitsikamma Mountains. The rooms are decorated with earthy colours, naturally woven fabrics, artefacts from north-east Africa, and local hand-crafted woods.Each room has a private wooden deck overlooking the forest, as well as a king-sized bed, and an en suite bathroom with both a bath and shower.

OTHER ROOM TYPES

Separate from the main lodge, there is a 3-bedroom, 2-storey villa offering extraordinary views of the valley and mountains. The spacious lounge has comfortable furniture, satellite TV, and a fireplace, and opens onto a wooden deck and infinity pool. Materolli Suite

Situated on the first floor with wall to wall panoramic windows from which to enjoy magnificent views of the Knysna Heads and Lagoon. Phantom Suite

The Phantom Suite is situated on an elevated floor with its own separate entrance and Veranda from which to enjoy magnificent views of the Knysna Heads and Lagoon. It comprises of a main bedroom of 35 SQM appointed with an extra length King Size bed that can be converted to twins and of a full size bathroom of 13.0 SQM with all comforts, shower cubicle over the bathtub and double washbasin. Maximum Number Adults: 2 to 4 in separate Connecting Room

A connecting room that comprises of a main bedroom of 20 square meters fitted with a shower and a King Size bed is exclusively available for a booking of a 3rd and 4th person. (Children of 12 years and older only)

Situated on top of the Welbedacht Cliff Tops 3km from Knysna Town, the Lodge overlooks the Knysna Lagoon and the Outeniqua mountains.

The theme of the Lodge is one based on natural beauty with stone and wood architecture combining to give that comfortable earth feel. Four of the suites have magical views onto the Knysna lagoon from every corner of the room.

The fifth suite while still enjoying lagoon views is embedded in indigenous “fynbos” surroundings attracting numerous bird species and giving that “hidden away” feeling. Enjoy a relaxing spa-bath while gazing into infinity. All the suites have double showers with views and are private.
