Serenity Forest Eco Reserve is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, 12km outside the town of Malelane, 19km from the famous Kruger National Park, Malelane Gate, in Mpumalanga.

Serenity is situated approximately 250 meters higher in altitude than the Kruger National Park and therefore allows for a more friendly temperature throughout the year, a temperature difference of between 3 and 5° less on any given day.

Serenity is situated in a bio-diverse eco-system, a combination of KwaZulu Natal and Mpumalanga. Some of the forest trees date back to more than 1000 years and with that comes an abundance of bird species, rare butterflies, tree orchards, dragon flies and natural roaming game which are found in this reserve.

The indigenous canopy forest covers nearly 500 hectares of the approximate 1300 hectares, with the remaining property covered in lush grasslands and rolling mountainous areas, supplying ample feed for the variety of wildlife including Zebras, Eland, Wildebeest, Kudu, Impala, Mountain Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Red and Grey Duiker and several troops of baboons and Vervet monkeys.

Serenity promotes the African culture through the awakening of all your senses with: unique African gourmet cuisine, the smell of giant forest trees, the soothing sound of the cascading water that flows through the lodge, the endless different shades of green that surround you which gives rise to mystical forest tales and the Swazi Beehive style of architecture to complete the texture of your experience.
