Leave Cape Town behind to take a marine safari where you may see great white sharks, whales, Cape fur seals and a variety of seabirds. On a 2-hour cruise from Gansbaai, Marine Biologists will be on hand to explain more about the amazing animals that visit our shores. Every year from June to December, the Southern right whales arrive to mate and calve. We may also see Bride’s whales, Humpback whales, the elusive Humpback dolphin and Common dolphin, as we cruise down the famous Shark Alley.
Gansbaai
Depart Cape Town around 06h00 and head eastwards along the N2 to the quaint fishing town of Gansbaai. This popular tourist destination lies within the Overberg District Municipality of the Western Cape and is the starting point to your thrilling marine safari experience.
On a 2 hour cruise from Gansbaai explore the waters between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. This area, aptly named Shark Alley, is a popular feeding ground for Great White sharks and a familiar shark cage diving location

After exciting encounters with the resident Great White sharks, travel to other hotspots to see whales, African penguins and other seabirds around Dyer Island and Geyser Rock.
The island is situated 8.5km from Kleinbaai harbour, near Gansbaai, and is a protected bird sanctuary that hosts a number of endangered species such as the African penguin, African Black Oystercatchers, Cape Cormorants and many more.
