Rwanda & Uganda Gorilla Trekking
Let’s Go Gorilla Trekking
Welcome to Rwanda and Uganda, 2 very different countries with one thing in common. They are both the ultimate kick-off points for observing the rare and endangered African Mountain Gorillas, up close, in their natural environment. We’ve partnered with the best operators in the region to bring you a variety of options, from 4 days to 8 days. But you are very welcome to drop us a message, call or email if you are looking for something more specific.
WELCOME TO RWANDA
Rwanda is a strikingly beautiful country dotted with immaculate villages, and verdant tea plantations that spill down the hillsides. Known as ‘The Land of a Thousand Hills’ Rwanda has a very rich culture with some of the friendliest people on the continent who cannot wait to share their country with you!
The Volcanoes National Park, at the foot of the Virunga mountains bordering Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, is home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas.
Coming face to face with a gorilla family is truly something that will be stay with you for life.
However, Rwanda has more to offer than gorilla trekking. For the very active there are exquisite volcano hikes, or relax and take in some culture, visit the drum makers, micro- brewery, museums etc
WELCOME TO UGANDA
There is something magical about it, a fantastic vibe created by a heady mix of elements that have the power to metaphorically blow every traveller away.
Naturally, the main draw-card is Gorillas, however Uganda doesn’t leave it there, she also offers more than 1,000 flowering plant and bird species and almost 200 different types of trees, many of which are endemic. It is no wonder that this precious ecosystem is home to an incredible variety of birds, butterflies and mammal species including some of the rarest animals on the planet.
Apart from the breathtaking vistas and spectacular wildlife, every traveller knows how the attitude of local people can influence the experience when visiting a new country. When going somewhere new, we want to learn about other ways of living, we want contact with new cultures, we want to connect with people whose lives are so different but somehow so similar to ours.
People in Uganda are friendly, open and curious with a great sense of fun, enjoy a visit to the local markets or take in some unique cultural excursions such as a day spent with the fascinating pygmy people.
Your life is a tapestry, you decide which threads to weave!
