Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakuria Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterized by grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year. Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October. ​

The lodge offers unrivalled luxury and sophistication, where you can choose to either relax in style or enjoy the Northern Serengeti’s excellent game viewing (without the crowds) with superb guides in 4×4 vehicles.  Large  granite  boulders  and  kopjes  are  the  prominent  feature  of  Lemala

Kuria  Hills, and  each  of  the  15 spacious,  glass-fronted  tented  suites  has been discreetly set  amongst the giant rocks to ensure maximum privacy and spectacular views from the open decks. Each suite has an elegant and contemporary design, with comfortable, modern interiors enhanced by authentic African touches. The public areas are dominated by magnificent kopjes, and guests can enjoy the broad views of the grasslands from the bar, sitting and dining areas and swimming pool.

There are several dining options at the lodge or out in the bush, and delicious meals include a choice of starters, main courses, desserts and house drinks. Afternoon tea is served before your game drive, and cocktails at sunset are taken on one of the kopjes with distant views of the Isuria Escarpment in the Maasai Mara. The Melengali Spa is in a separate tent where you can indulge in massages and manicures in a peaceful, natural setting

Tented Suites ( 10 rooms ) 

Lemala Kuria Hills comprises 15 glass fronted suite tents set amongst giant boulders for maximum privacy. Each tent has a sitting room with mini bar, bedroom with mosquito netted bed, spacious bathroom with freestanding bath, indoor and outdoor shower and a spacious deck with tables and chairs, a private plunge pool and sun beds. Each deck boasts magnificent views over the grassy slopes below. Triple rooms are also available on request for those travelling with children.

You can enjoy game drives from here on shared or on exclusive use basis. Our vehicles have open sided windows, charging facilities and a fridge with cold drinks. Our vehicles are driven by excellent guides who will ensure you see the best of what Serengeti has to offer

Bush Meals

This is an experience that is a way of life in Africa. Its an exceptional treat and one not to be missed. Imagine your guests have just finished an inspiring game drive and your guests come across in the middle of the plains a private sundowner set up with drinks and snacks, chairs and cushions and waiters on hand to serve your guests their favourite favourite tipple against thebeautiful backdrop of the Africa as we know it, as the sun goes down

Lemala Cubs Kids activities

Tanzania has great appeal for families. Seeing animals is very exciting for children, and nothing can prepare a parent for the delight of watching their child’s reaction when they catch sight of a lion, giraffe or elephant for the very first time. But small kids can get bored and restless on long drives or around camp if they are not entertained. Lemala Cubs offers our special guests under the age of 12 a wide range of wonderful opportunities to experience and enjoy the magic of the Africa bush. These activities are fun, educational and interesting, show future generations the need for conservation of Africa’s wildlife, and keep kids well entertained while mum and dad relax.

Some of our Lemala Cubs activities may include identifying animals and birds, learning how to throw (blunt) spears and use bows and arrows like the Maasai, being taught tracking and spoor identification techniques by our guides, walking with the Maasai to hear stories about their culture and way of life in the bush, and even joining the chefs in the kitchen to prepare meals or roasting marshmallows over the campfire before bed​
