Welcome to Franschhoek Country House & Villas, your 5-star hotel accommodation in the heart of the Franschhoek valley, complimented by the well known Monneaux Restaurant. Situated on the outskirts of the Franschhoek Village, it is an ideal base to indulge your tastes for fine wines and world class cuisine. Guests can choose between the original and charming Franschhoek Country House or the Villas @ Franschhoek Country House.

Rooms

All rooms include en-suite bathrooms, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities and air-conditioning and most rooms have private balconies. A laundry service and room service is also available to guests

Standard Rooms are located in the original manor house dating back to 1890 with charming rooms all renovated to offer all the expected luxuries and amenities. All en-suite rooms have a small lounge area inside each room together with a private balcony. In addition, a separate guest lounge offers guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy a complimentary sherry.

The Luxury Rooms are located separately and offer more space, including a lounge area, fireplace and under carpet heating. Most of these rooms offer a private patio or balcony to enjoy the views of the fountains and gardens of lavender.

Garden Cottages facilities include full en-suite bathrooms with a range of amenities, shaver plugs, individual air-conditioning, in-room tv, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, tea & coffee making facilities, overhead fans, safe in room, hairdryers. Each has a patio downstairs and a balcony upstairs with a view over the surrounding vineyards

The recently added Villa Suites appeal to guests looking for a more luxurious and pampered experience complimented by the extra special touches. The Villa Suites offer discerning guests demanding opulence and space in a relaxed country setting.

Dining

Known as the food and wine capital of South Africa, Franschhoek boasts a number of top award-winning restaurants including our very own Monneaux Restaurant. Here you can sample the fine delicacies that have made Franschhoek one of the world’s leading capitals of fine wines and cuisine. Whether you enjoy lunch at the fountain terrace under a spreading pepper tree or dinner in the elegant dining room, the Monneaux restaurant is not to be missed

The underground wine cellar is available for private functions where dinner can be enjoyed by an impressive selection of local and foreign wines. The restaurant’s bar lounge provides a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy good company.

When you are not sampling some of the Franschhoek fine wines and cuisines, there is so much more to do in and around the Franschhoek Village. Activities include touring the valley with one of our guides, a helicopter ride, rent a mountain bike, horse riding and much much more.

In addition to the Franschhoek Wine Valley the Stellensbosch and Paarl wine routes are both within a scenic half an hour’s drive of Franschhoek offering an even wider choice. The wine routes are easy to navigate, however, we can easily arrange a guided wine and cellar tour on your behalf should you prefer!
